A FINE CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'BEAUMONT-ADAMS, serial no. 31633R,
circa 1856, with blued octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, the top-strap signed 'ROBERT ADAMS, 76 KING WILLIAM STREET LONDON E.C.', the top left flat of barrel marked 'L.A.C.', plain blued five-shot cylinder, borderline engraved solid frame with sliding safe to left hand side, brushed bright hammer and trigger, chequered saw-handled grip with colour hardened iron cap and colour hardened trigger-guard bow, the whole retaining virtually all its original London blue finish and appearing unfired together with its manufacturer's oak storage case lined and compartmented in green baize, blue parchment trade label to inside of lid and containing a full suite of accessories including a bag-shaped copper 'Dixon' flask, cleaning rod, double cavity brass mould, ball pouch, nipple-key and boxwood cap-pot, also all in fine condition
